Hello my beloved watchers! It's been a while since I've written a journal.
I hope you're all doing well.
I just wanted to write this in light of everything that has happened to me in terms of drawing and painting. Something that I want to remind myself every time I feel lost. And I think you guys might get something out of this. (hopefully ><)
I was in a semi art block for close to four years. And it's only just now that I'm coming through it and finally feeling comfortable drawing anything I want without feeling shackled and stuck every time.
The point of my post can be summarized by Dory's quote from Finding Nemo that has reminded me time and time again to continue on. "Just keep swimming".
Just keep swimming even if the tides are against you. Just keep swimming even if you think it's hopeless. Just keep swimming until you reach calm waters and see how far you've swam and know that it was all worth it.
Don't stop studying. Don't stop practicing. Even if right now your work seems so awkward and you took so many hours to do it, but it's still not enough. Don't stop.
Because one day all the work you did, all the studying of those muscles and different lighting effects etc. They will show, and you will be able to utilize them with ease.
So don't give up, don't stop. Just keep swimming.
I hope this helps anyone who needs it even if for just a little bit.
